I live here and my mom when through it in the mid-late 80s. (Pre-web obviously)
She went to exercise class everyday and to cooking classes once or twice a week. (can't remember)
Then they were followers primarily of Dr Dean Ornish (very low-fat, mostly veggie, lean proteins) . This was before all the research about "good" fats and the deleterious effects of certain carbs like white flour and sugar. I would presume they have updated their thinking on that since then!
Most of the folks that she was in the program with did really well losing weight. A lot of it was cardiac rehab, people ramping up after heart attacks, surgery, and trying to cut down cholesterol.
The best thing about it is you have the multipronged approach - diet, exercise, and montoring.
If the online version is anything like the original program, it could really be something great. I didn't know they had started an online presence.
edit: Mom was 5' 10" and weighed over 200 when she went into the program. And very frustrated about it! :grr: They got her down to 140, I think. Dad said she started to look TOO skinny, but hey ;-)
