Some brave people here - so here I go

I am impressed by the honesty and compassion expressed here so I figured wahoo I will post.

I am way too close to 400 and 34 yrs old. The only diet that has ever worked for me is the poverty diet (you know too poor to buy food, no car so had to walk everywhere, etc)

Damn global warming...it is so hot just the thought of waddling for a walk makes me sweat. I am so impressed by the DUers walking several miles and biking as well - When I go to the Y to walk I got passed by an 80+yr old with a limp and I believe a snail.

I am excellent at making excuses, and have lost any will to give a rats ass....I don't know how to get back the desire to be healthy and to take care of myself. I am extremely self-destructive in so many ways (yes I have been to therapy since the age of 5-18 - court ordered because my parents messed me up, and then kept it up over the years off and on). I see my weight and lack of exercise as another form of self-destruction.

I know how to eat healthy and I know to exercise....I am just struggling with the why.
