3. Hi Gentle Giant.....
I too just began a work out regime and will slowly change my diet as well.
I am, according to height/weight ratio charts considered obese myself. I have developed type II diabetes and am taking medication for it.
I have approx 70lbs to lose and plan on taking a year or more to do it. As time progresses I will slowly adapt and change my diet.
I think the hardest part is not seeing instant results. We all know better, and yet in our drive through, fast paced, broadband world we tend to expect things quickly and without much fuss and muss. With diet and excercise it is a lifestyle change. It is a change of habits, from bad to good. I also think it is a mind thing....talking yourself into, or psyching yourself to reformat your thinking to a healthier way.
Having recently donated to DU and being given the ability to post in this forum and the excercise forum I hope to continue to give and seek support so that we may all achieve our healthy lifestyle goals.

Good luck with everything, and keep up the hard work. Nothing good every comes easy, but it sure is worth it when you get it!
