A couple of those * quotes above are, IMHO, the TRUTH for the administration:

"See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda."

"We need an energy bill that encourages consumption." --George W. Bush, Trenton, N.J., Sept. 23, 2002

I have little doubt that these statement, as stated, reflect conversations in the WH -- * just wasn't supposed to let on the truth.

But your point is a good one - * is harldy one to talk. So to speak.
