i need educated: TEXAS politics. education especially

i am going to a dinner, round table talk with a woman running for state rep. so funny how this happened. wow. anyway she is on the school board for 14 years and has just had it. she is running repug. when she called to ask us to dinner i told her i was so pissed at her, not that i can tell her why, because this is a small town, and everyone knows everyone. she asks, is this Mrs. XXXX. i said, see see you know who i am

anyway i get a call today, friend/client of husband gave her our name. so sure enough i pissed someone off. hubby told them, well, wife a democrat. not good for republicans to call our house.

anyway, they assured us, mostly democrats going, and she has to run repug cause of the area. they are brainstorming. and need to get caught up locally and state politics. i know national. but tonight is going to be state. any help would be appreciated
