to opponents. You loose either way. That is what GOP does to diminish their opposition. To make their opposition smaller in the eyes of themselves and all those around them.

To Sophie (in the novel by William Styron or the movie) she gets off the train with two kids at a concentration camp. And the nazi sadistic guard tells her only one of her kids can live with her in the camp (whatever that means) and the other has to die. And he tells her she has to choose.

She tries not to choose. When he starts to take both kids, she chooses her youngest to be sent away. And of course the older child went with her and died in the camp. She survived. Only to live a diminished life for the choice she was forced to make. And that choice was given to her with the intent and purpose of making her pain more.. and of destroying her whole soul. She was beyond a victim of manipulation at that point. She was complicit in the murder of one of her children.


How is it working? In this case?
