I was in training for recertification on Monday, and I sat beside another pest control tech and we got talking. When I told him where I worked, he said, "Oh, where the Klan is-" and rattled off an address. He was from another town about 90 miles away, and he had the zip code correct. I looked at him and then said, "Yeah, it's something most folks are ashamed of. When my boss hired an African American to help us one summer, he gave orders that if any customer objected, we would drop that customer immediately." Guy shut up.


(And the fellow worked for us until his college classes started and we didn't have to give up one customer!)
