3. The government can also help by repealing one law and passing another.
If the government were to really help, then the next Congress should repeal completely the Taft-Hartley Act or at the least neutralize sections that allow states to pass "right to work" laws. Those laws allow a non-unionized worker to be employed at a union shop, and I have no problem with that, but what I do have a serious problem with is that these laws also say this non-unionized worker gets the same benefits as unionized workers who did fight and did contribute to the gains. That's not fair to union workers, imho, because freeloaders can ultimately destroy a union as a result.

And they should pass the Employee Free-Choice Act that makes it easier for workers to unionize.
