I've read websites of cancer hospitals that offer sedation for a bone marrow biopsy as a matter of course. I would ask about it (I would insist upon it, actually, because I'm no good about medical procedures).

Best wishes to you and try not to worry! I know that's easier said than done, but please try to keep very busy and keep lots of magazines and funny stuff around to focus on when your mind starts to wander.
