6. The MSM is spinning this as Stewart Vrs. Cramer.
Edited on Thu Mar-12-09 04:25 PM by Mulehead
But remember, the original brilliant Daily Show piece that started this whole thing involved Stewart calling bullshit on CNBC, and by extension, the 24-7, all-pervasive, hysterical, hegemonic Corporate Capitalist Main Stream Media propaganda machine and its role in service of the Reich (Gee? No, G.E., Dumkopf!!!) and its ongoing class war against workers and all progressive thought and political action geared toward fighting against the Fascist-Capitalist Risorgimento of the Raygun-Bush era. Stewart's original devastating deconstruction exposed Santelli's planned and staged "Tea Party" rant against the Stim and mortgage bailout, and the fact that CNBC is just a megaphone for the pin-striped Pirates of Wall Street; that the so called financial 'experts' it routinely trots out, like Cramer and Santelli are nothing more than a bunch of bloviating charletans; and that the stock market is really nothing more or less than a three-card Monte game or Ponzi scheme designed to separate the bad-at-math rubes from their money.

A typical technique of MSM propagandists in service of the Fascist-Capitalist political-economic machine, going way back before Goebbels (maybe even before Gramsci was writing about hegemony from his prison cell in the 1920s after being thrown there to rot by Mussolini), is to take an argument or expose of a systemic structure or process of inequality and subtly transform and trivialize it into a mere Punch and Judy fight between individuals, thus neatly obscuring that fact that kkkorporate Tools like Cramer and Rush and Sean and Billo and Beck and Savage and the rest of the Hitler Youth are just the talking marionettes in a larger puppet show, the faces (or feces, perhaps) of the much more insidious Beast that is the kkkorporate Fascist kkkapitalist Machine. It is a maxim of Marxian political theater to always engage your class enemies by keeping the focus of the play on them. By keeping the Fascists and their structures of Power in the spotlight on stage, you keep the play about the true enemies of the working classes and at the same time expose their true nature to the workers whom they seek to exploit and dominate; conversely, it is also a tried and true strategy of the reactionary Fascist overlords of the Reichwing to try to avoid exposing themselves and their structures of inequality by shifting the spotlight from the system onto individuals (like the soon to be expendable Jim Cramer), to obscure the real Message and replace it with a trivialized version about individuals and not about the real structures of inequality and Power, and thus neutralize the revolutionary potential of the play and its audience of the working masses, to prevent them from developing a class consciousness and from engaging in revolutionary actions in service of their own working class interests.

So, I hope that if Stewart's people actually do lurk here at DU and read this, I hope they will refocus the theme of their play back onto the Media and the Message that the Media is owned by fascist kkkrooks and liars, and not just on the puppets in their service.
