25. Teryang -- I think you're on target with that analysis.
The US participated in Iran's development of nuclear power years ago, and profited from that participation. Now this admin twists the facts to set its new agenda for the middle east.

The PNAC nuts targeted Iran for its oil and for its threat to US power (all kinds). PNAC's intent was to insure the superiority of US control over the middle east and to either destroy or undermine Iran's advanced civilization, with its enormous oil reserves -- which stands in its way.

If we do to Iran what we did to Iraq -- we will never recover our sense of honor as a country.

I also fear that that we've earned the hatred and mistrust of the middle east for thousands of generations to come.

Add to that the fact that we've spread depleted uranium dust all over Iraq, which will blow in the wind for billions of years -- makes me deeply ashamed and sick at heart.

It's almost too painful to think about.
