Perhaps we should support Rudy's candidacy

I know, I know...."What the hell is he talking about??!!!"

Here is my argument:

Rudy is attractive to many moderates and could be a threat to take swing votes from the Dems should he become the candidate. The problem with Rudy is that he will have an uphill battle to get the nomination. We would be well served to publicly state how a president Rudy would be 'acceptable' to liberals because he has liberal sensibilities on social issues.

Now, I know we don't want him as president, but just having us shrug our shoulders in public and saying "Could be worse" will cause great hair pulling and gnashing of teeth from our fundamentalist brethren. This will be used as a missile against Rudy by his Republican base, and he won't even be considered as a VP candidate.

Just a thought.
