I can't believe we have a bunch of straight people trying to tell gay people what they're allowed to be offended by. When you're in the empowered majority it's easy to say what you'd feel as the marginalized minority and very hard to actually know. So if people tell me that something is offensive to them based on their race, ethnicity or orientation, I have no reason not to believe them and little reason not to act to prevent further offense, especially in a case where there's so little to lose. It's not as if M&M/Mars has a lot to lose in pulling and apologizing for a shockingly unfunny ad campaign that did anything but make a snickers bar look appetizing.
