I used an obscure term. A shell game is used by conmen to take your money. A coin, or another small object is placed on a table and is "shuffled" between three half shells or cups giving the illusion that the "prize" is under one of them. They then take your money.
By shell game I was reinforcing the BBC's view that the Republican party and it's corporate honchos are promoting a huge Hillary push among Dems securing her the Dem prez candidate knowing that she will be soundly defeated by a national vote.
Sorry for the confusion.
