Kucinich as an independent in the primary, and not have that cowardly (D) attached to my good name.

i've been searching for any good reason to remain in a party that acts as a punching bag for the Repos. I live 20 miles one way from where the County Steering Committee holds it's meetings. As a single dad of fairly young kids, I can't go into town on a school night to attend meetings. So that's not a reason to keep my (D) of cowardice.

i can however, find good reason to switch my registration to independent.

If I change my registration I can still work on issues without the taint of partisan politics being used as a reason that I support an issue. It makes the issue the issue instead of my party affiliation the issue.

I can still support Dems I agree with, without supporting Dems I don't agree with by my party affiliation.

I won't keep getting a bunch of environmentally destructive fake surveys asking me what my "most important" issues are, you know the ones that never mention single payer health insurance, impeachment, begin to pull out ALL the troops now, or repealing the Patriot Act, etc.

Since the Dems take my vote for granted as a (D), perhaps as an independent they will actually court my vote.

And I believe it would set a good example. By leaving the party, It will demonstrate that there is a price to pay for our leaders constantly sabotaging the progressives in their own party.

So yeah, I'm just about done with the Dems.
