"Everybody thinks..", "Everybody wants.."

Or,

"A good American...is, does, thinks, wants, etc."

All one has to do is watch the TV commercials to be bombarded with ads of all the things you "need" just to fit in.

And, God help you if you don't.

We are a people fearful of change. We cling to our "traditions" of the American Dream, of religion, of belief in our goodness and that we are the only form of government that has seen the light.

We are in love with the status-quo because it makes us feel safe.

We are delusional enough to think that things will never change, that we can control the world.

We are like selfish children who refuse to grow up and play by the rules.
