the doctor's back door was and had the money to pay for the safe way to end their pregnancies. I knew them when I was growing up, the daughters of the social club set and the upper middle class who everyone knew had abortions at your family doctor's office, while the poor girls either went away to have their babies, had them and kept them, or had abortions given by some quack or self taught mid-wife.
