brainstorming: if your daughter has some friends who are also becoming politically aware and interested (and their parents wouldn't kill you for trying to turn their babies into "democrats"). a political message board for kids is an intersting idea.

i would have no clue as to how to go about starting one (you might ask skinner?) but i think it's a really cool idea. you could do a lot of diverse/fun things with it--have a history section, a breaking news section, a section about laws that directly impact kids, a section on what kids can do to create change (political activism), and a "playground" (ala lounge), etc.

at 11 and 12 my daughter was very disinterested in politics. but if yours is interested--and you have the know-how--maybe you could start up a place for kids? (junior underground? democratic kids?)
