11. Dick Was A Brilliant, Funny Man
In the early 90's, I worked on a radio show where we interviewed classic movie and TV stars. We caught up with Bob Hope, Buddy Ebsen, Don Addams, Bob Newhart and many, many others...and let them just talk about themselves and their lives. Sometimes it led to some funny/embarassing moments...like the time we asked Tiny Tim his reaction to the death of John Candy in '93 and he said "served the bastard right...he drank and smoked too much".

One of the funniest and best shows we did was with Dick Martin. At the time Laugh-In was long in the memory banks...before DVD sets...and he was glad someone had remembered the show and went into a lot of funny stories on how the show came together and then seemed to have a synergy all its own. Martin did a lot of the scouting of the talent for the show...doing the comedy clubs and was responsible for bringing Goldie Hawn onto the show...that helped really launch her career.

Say Goodnight Dick... Thanks for the laughs and memories...
