Thanks from my Dad, whose story touched so many of you.

You might remember that my Dad went into cardiac arrest a few days before the election, was unconscious for over a week, then asked who won the election almost immediately upon regaining consciousness.

He's home now, doing great, cracking jokes, playing piano with both hands. And he asked me to post this for him:

"Hello, all. I'm femmedem's dad, the subject of that long thread beginning at http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=7864072

I wanted to give you an update and closure, but could not reply to the thread because it's been archived. I asked femmedem to post this on my behalf. I was discharged from the hospital Monday before Thanksgiving with an implanted pacemaker/defibrillator. Despite very long statistical odds against it, I have all my faculties. Rehab exercises to recover strength and balance lost due to extended bed rest are working, and I have good reason to be optimistic. Thanks for all your good wishes."
