I think a province with an extremely rare version of french AND a french/english government is much more distinct than just going one way or another. And I think that that the huge community of Chinese Canadians in BC and their influence on english society in BC makes for a large difference too. Your dismissal of them as not as distinct shows you're just another arrogant, ignorant Quebec bigot.

My other roomie in TR once told me that he didn't like it when he found out he was going to be living with an Englishman. Then when we became friends he realized he'd never actually really known any english people but had been steered toward disliking them his entire life. Sounds like you need an english friend.
