We were contacted by concerned citizens about the littering of our beloved Savannah River. Apparently crazy T-baggers plan to throw tea bags (crates?) into our waterways.

Local officials are questioning the sanity plans by the Savannah tax activists to dump (crates?) tea bags into the Savannah River in protest of excessive government spending, among other stupid archaic reasons.

Hundreds, if not thousands of protesters are said to participate, according to their figures.

A call to the police department assured the following actions:

Anyone caught throwing garbage or any articles constituting litter would be cited. The penalties are $1000 fine or even jail time depending on the violation.

“We will enforce the litter laws of the state and no one is above the law, litter is litter… Anyone caught throwing stuff into the river will be cited for littering,” the official said, adding that Georgia does not take littering lightly.

Another official told us that throwing tea into the river could hurt aquatic life by depleting the water of oxygen. She said a permit should not be issued because the river does not meet minimum water quality standards.

Nonetheless, the dumbasses organizers of Savannah Tax Day Tea Party said they will go ahead with their protest. Wednesday, is the federal deadline for filing tax returns.
