9. I knew the White House did that. I was just surprised at state.gov.

I can't think of any reason I would go to whitehouse.gov looking for anything other than information about the Presidents and the White House. Though I suppose a link to all the department websites would be thoughtful.


I go to irs.gov, and the first thing I see are links to forms and rules.

I go to fda.gov, and the first thing I see are links on food and drug safety, etc.

I go to treasury.gov, and I see direct links to treasury business.

I go to state.gov, and the first thing I see is a scrolling panel of videos about the Secretary. Then the first half dozen Direct Links are the Secretary's bio, travel, etc. Once we get past all the information about Obama's Secretary, the web page finally gets down to business with links concerning passports, etc.

I would expect all of Obama's Secretary's to have their bio/etc on their department websites. But I would expect the home page to be a service provider first. Or worse case scenario, about the Department.
