Either Obama is a politician, and said what was necessary to get elected, or he overestimated his abilities to recruit trusted advisers. If the second, then he displays a weakness for following bad advise.

Personally I believe it is a combination of the two: He is first a politician, and second an academician. Politicians lie to the public, and academicians lie to themselves.

think about it.
