9. Um...
Sorry, but I am afraid that you are being rather unfair in your comment, deaniac21. You may have a right to have it but you and many others seem to think that the president can easily just get rid of 'Don't ask, don't tell'.

Sorry... but nothing is ever as simple as it may seem. Obama has to deal with the Republicans, pal. THE REPUPLICANS! Yep, you remember those troublemakers and then there are the troublemakers in his own party. If Obama were to make any move on this issue right now with all that he has to deal with on his plate I think it would cause more problems for him.

And yes I do understand...

I think the gay community needs to be patient and take a look at how much Obama has to deal with right now. He doesn't have any easy issues right now. Hell, in fact the man is being buried under an avalanche of problems. Throwing this very tricky issue on the pile right now is a huge mistake. It will only make things harder on him and he has a hard enough time as it is. Let's take the time think all the issues at hand before we start making such untrue statements such as: 'It is still a shame that Obama has abandoned the gay community...' because I don't believe he has. He just has to deal this important issue very carefully. I say this because right now even if the country, as a whole, is becoming more open to gays the problem still remains that there are still more gay haters around who can cause trouble for Obama then many realize. This issue is not so clean cut. And before you yell 'he needs to have some courage' let me just say that the man needs help from us to pressure the troublemakers and bring them into line so that he can get some of the current problems off his plate quicker. Then he'll have some time to focus on this issue. Of course, I know I probably just wasted my time responding because you will just ignore what I have said but hey I tried.

It is better to try then to just sit back and say nothing.
