Wow. The president's speech made me even more depressed.

Don't jump on my shit. I'm a big D Democrat. I worked to get Obama elected, and would do so again. But I am not happy with what I heard tonight. Praying for solutions? Where was the tough talk and tougher action? Nothing was offered, no solutions were presented, no vision for the future was seriously addressed.

I'm deeply saddened. The ramifications of this disaster will be truly epic. Yet, I don't get the sense that Obama fully grasps this, or is willing to do the Presidential stuff needed not just to rein in the BP criminal enterprise, but also to use the powers at his disposal to force some immediate action.

I just didn't hear anything either comforting or hopeful tonight.
