can't have that "socialism", you know - makes the individual weak, and thus society is made weak, and ripe for takeover by the...uh...Cubans?
Then, all the rich people would have to suffer at the hands of the godless communists...that would be terrible!

added: I recall Rick Santorum saying that being poor and struggling to stay alive made people's character stronger...like he would know anything about poverty...OR character?
