87. Reid and Pelosi are both neo-liberals.
There is nothing "progressive" about a Mormon fundie from a red state like Reid, and a moneyed socialite like Pelosi. We need to come to grasps in this country with the concept of class: Pelosi and Bush for example, both belonged to the same class the very wealthy. Pretending a socialite is going to go against her interests and will start supporting progressive egalitarian policies is beyond naive. But that is basically what the Dems are requesting from progressives: to literally stop using their brains and to accept a narrative which has little connection with reality.

Neo-liberals and Neo-Conservatives share a majority of ideological leanings, they simply differ in the methods required to achieve their shared goals. The American citizen has been proverbially played for a fool for the better part of the past 4 decades with this bullshit game of good cop/bad cop between the "new" Dems and the GOP.
