Historically, progressivism has done much to enhance individual liberties, but also acted to curtail them. For instance, one of the biggest successes of the original progressive movement was Prohibition.

So, no, I won't say that progressives and liberals are on the same side of the spectrum. Now those progressives here are all left wing progressives.

I'm still waiting on a real decision by the progressive movement about what that movement stands for. It is, at this time, just a bit diffuse.
