...said Cheney looked as though he was dressing to operate a snow blower. Some people said we should cut him some slack because he's 60-something and has a long history of heart disease, but I'd observe that A) he wore an appropriate black coat to the inaugurations, even on snowy days; B) he's a freaking millionaire and can afford clothing that is both warm and appropriate for official events; and C) I'm not persuaded he even has a heart.

As for Maria Shriver's attire, is it just me, or has increased bareness become de rigeur all of a sudden, even if hot summers are nothing new? I see mostly flip-flops on women, even in the workplace, and the same goes for bared midriffs, legs, and shoulders. That goes for some of the men, too! :P I don't know how shoe and hosiery retailers stay in business, as people are even wearing flip-flops in 45-degree weather. This I do not get.
