Also consider that individual freedoms, such as those you want for your gay son, become secondary in a society where crowd control and food allotment takes priority. The life of individuals becomes cheaper and cheaper. It's not good to just let the ship we're all on hit the pier in the name of "personal freedom."

And FYI--my parents did a fantastic job. But it took a toll on them and there were still too many kids. Many of us who were raised in litters of 5-6 who feel the same as I. It's not unusual. You can be loved and taken care of, and still feel the emptiness of never really knowing your parents.
