I don't think the average person has noticed much. I think they're more aware of the impact of the writer's strike than the impact of this fascist takeover. Lucky for them, when the veneer is stripped off, it will be the activists and the intellectuals who are murdered or incarcerated, if history is any indication, and why wouldn't it be? The only difference in this fascist takeover is how long they are keeping the veneer in place, everything else is pretty much boilerplate.
