"I despise those who look down at others because of social or economic class, or because of the color of their skin or the nationality of their ancestors."

vs.

"No, I don't hate America. I just hate some of the fat assholes feeding off the corpses of its expiring ideals, all the while cheering its virtues and ignoring its faults."

Isn't that kind of a poor example or choice of words?

"Fat" and "Gay" are probably the most common epithets of this kind. We tend to make them without really paying attention. But at least we should make the effort to stop.
