My husband's IRA was invested mainly in stocks and he was starting to get a bit worried (well, more than a bit, actually) as we started losing thousands of dollars a week. It's really sad when all the gains you've made over the past five years start vanishing. We are basically retired, so we were kind of counting on this money to keep us going into the future.

In any event, he pulled the money out of stocks and is holding it in some other kind of money fund until things level out. It won't earn much, but at least it should be safer. Our broker thinks that things will improve after the election, but we're going to play it safe for a while. We're with Wachovia, so we're keeping an eye on them, too. We may ultimately move things over to our credit union.
