Introducing DU's Denver 2008 Convention Coverage Team!

Here's some actual news while we're all waiting for the VP announcement :)

The 2008 Democratic National Convention starts on Monday in Denver, Colorado. This year we've been fortunate enough to obtain blogger credentials, so we're pleased to announce that three DUers will be attending the Convention and reporting exclusively for Democratic Underground from the Pepsi Center, Invesco Field, and http://www.bigtentdenver.org/index.cfm">The Big Tent.

Elad is an administrator of Democratic Underground and has been posting on the site since 2001. Fascinated by the 2000 election and subsequently incredulous at what happened in Florida (not to mention that people actually voted for W. at all), he sought out an Internet forum where he could communicate with other like-minded folks. He has since watched as Democratic Underground grew from a tiny forum into the most popular left-wing message board on the Internet, along with the rise of alternative Internet media and the blogosphere. Thus, he is extremely excited and honored to be covering the 2008 Democratic National Convention for Democratic Underground.

With a username inspired by one of various vituperously dispositioned felines that have populated his rural home, Hissyspit found Democratic Underground after the 2004 "election" via a Google search, one that brought up the famed 'Top Ten Conservative Idiots,' (a feature never short of subject matter, by the way). Rumored to have spare time, he teaches college in North Carolina, makes art, and fights the power. Favorite quote about Bob Dylan by an anonymous eBayer: 'What with his freak-show mind, he saw it all too clearly. Too f***in' cool."

TygrBright discovered Democratic Underground when she saw a couple of dweeby-looking guys on TV, holding a big banner at the first Bush Inauguration, and has been using it as a safety valve ever since. She figures it's kept her out of half a dozen jails, locked wards, and similar facilities, and added volumes to her already fat dossier at various alphabetically-named government agencies. She lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which she describes as "a little to the left of Berkeley, CA."

Elad, Hissyspit and TygrBright will be in attendance all four days and will be regularly updating their DU Journals with tales from the Convention floor (and elsewhere).
