9. Our local cable company can't carry MTV, VH-1, Nickelodeon, etc.
I was personally told by a higher-up at the company, that it's because Viacom offers their channels in packages...and that main package is way overpriced. They'd have to raise our cable rates, and they didn't want to pass along rate hikes to the consumers.

We do get Comedy Central, Boomerang, and TV Land, but we get other music and kids' channels (Fuse, Toon Disney, etc.).

I think Viacom's just getting way too greedy, even more so than usual. I mean, look how those Nazis keep pulling vids off YouTube. As if those grainy vids are going to cause Viacom to lose any money. What are people going to do, burn that crap to DVD's and sell them? Get real!

Maybe if more companies drop Viacom programming, they'll get the message. Raising rates during a bad economy is NOT the way to win at business.
