Certainly I can see how someone could get a gut level feeling that he's involved, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was. But we have to go by evidence or else we'll be accusing everyone of everything.
You don't need friends at high places to purchase space on a server farm. You do need them to get the MSM to push you bullshit astroturf, but they have to be bigwigs in the media, not bigwigs in webhosting.
