When we first moved to Boston in the late 90s we opened an account with what I believe at that time was called Bank Boston. In the merger mania of those years it was swallowed up by Fleet Bank. We thought of moving our account but didn't get around to it before Fleet Bank was, in turn, swallowed up by Bank of America. How did we get here, we wondered.

So then we moved to Chicago, and it was just easiest to retain our same account with BoA, but we were never very happy about it. Not that we've ever had any problems with BoA. Au contraire: it was just the idea of this mega-corporation. But we're still there as we contemplate changing. But to where? We'll figure it out when all the dust settles.
