The effective destruction of the Republican Party would force a division in the Democratic Party, as I said here yesterday: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=5554090&mesg_id=5554090

We're either going to see a minor course correction by the Republicans, or a major political realigning like 1824 and 1856. Which it ends up being is up to the Republicans, unfortunately.
