More than 100 DUers have recommended threads (at least 2 that I saw) defending Letterman and the so-called "joke" he told on CBS one week ago, suggesting that the Palin family are "fair game" and deserve whatever comes their way.

But now it turns out that Letterman agrees with me that the joke "cannot be defended".

I think Dave did the right thing by making a second apology - much more sincere than his first attempt.

I am pleased to see that Governor Palin has accepted the apology.

I am also pleased that 60 folks took the trouble to recommend my OP.
