to self correct in whatever vernacular the reader desires.

In any case, dead letter literalism isn't going to help much, although it would be nice to see the original "woman" instead of "handmaiden."

Going back to the original Bronze Age language isn't going to help it apply to modern times, at any rate. While it might be an intellectual curiosity, most believers will continue to cling to the archaic language of the KJV or the Pope approved Douay version.
