Why is it important to you that everyone who posts here praise the President in some way? Is it a loyalty test? Does it just make you feel better to see others parrot your views?

I fundamentally disagree with Obama's method of governance, so you're going to see much more criticism than praise from me. He has done many things that encouraged me in some way: his Cairo speech, his dismantling of the House Repukes at their retreat, his direct attacks on Faux News. But none of those actions have led to tangible policy results.

Most infuriating is his almost congenital inability to take a real stand on an issue. His dithering on the Public Option was a major factor in its defeat, IMHO. His almost detached approach to financial reform meant that most real reform proposals were stripped without comment.

And now we're faced with it again. Obama says he supports equal rights for gays but opposes gay marriage. How does that even make sense?
