7. My self interest
I'm a laid off 55 year old facing economic oblivion for the rest of my life, so this new version of expanding medicare down to age 55 is wonderful - for me. It does make me feel a lot like "I got mine, so screw you", as far as people below age 55 goes.

However, as this gets implemented and prevents 55 and ups from economic ruin, it will be that much easier to make the medicare age cut off lower and lower over time.

I think this new development will be a Godsend for people in my demographic, but hopefully the under 55's will not go through the dropped insurance preexisting bullshit that should be at the core of every American's interest in Health Care Reform. There should be no more medical related bankruptcies in America EVER AGAIN!

People younger than me - forgive my selfishness, but Medicare down to 55 would really really help me survive these times without losing my life savings and all my stuff!
