167. The more I think about this case the more it breaks my heart & Lyric is right
I've been there, done that. I suffered beatings with a belt, and many times it felt like it was going to last forever. Like this girl, I had chutzpah and at times I would not give my abuser exactly what they wanted. Yes, the fighting and the beating often lasted for hours, yet I feel stronger as an adult that I stood up to a person who should've been protecting me.

As Lyric has expressed in her posts, there can be a whole lot of dysfunction going on in this family. One of my parents was abusive, the other was not. I'm not going to explain the non-abusive parent's behavior, only to say you just had to be there.
