call each other that. My nieces and their friends also call each other that affectionately. My gay friends also call each other that. I had a phone message yesterday that said, "Hey Bitch, lets go out to dinner tonight!" from a girlfriend which took me aback. I am a woman in my mid 50's and it was the first time I have been addressed causally this way. It does seem to have morphed to a general term in my neck of the woods.
