It appears some people don't understand the psychology behind the letter. He identifies himself first because he is untenured. Being untenured and speaking up as he did is the economic equivalent of sitting on the front lines of the pepper spray.

After introducing himself, he gets right to the point. When I read the letter, it had the effect of three shots to the forehead of the chancellor:

Bam

Bam

Bam.


Pretty good for a nonviolent protester. We fight with words, not pepper spray and batons.
