Stars not shining kindly on Arnie
Harrison Ford, Tom Hanks, Cybill Sheperd and Sylvester Stallone are the latest stars in the Hollywood firmament who admit they don't want Arnold Schwarzenegger as California's next governor.

"I won't vote for Arnold," Ford said in Berlin, where he was promoting his latest movie.

Hanks was furious when he heard rumours - later denied - that a powerful actors' agency planned to support The Terminator's candidacy.

The New York Post reported: "Tom was furious when a misleading article in the Los Angeles Times appeared saying the Creative Artists Agency would help Arnold in his bid for governor.

1. but arnold supports illegal immigrants:
he said so. His proof, he said with incredulity, is that he "has done 4 movies in mexico. How can people say I don't support immigrants?"

??????????????????????

2. Come'on, did he really say that? Where's a link? No wonder the handlers
are keeping him out of the debates.

10. Here is the quote

"I will find a way of working with all immigrants . . . I am very fond of the Latin community," he said, noting "I've done four of my movies in Mexico."

This one is a lie, he's been attacking Davis from the start:

"I will never attack. Why would I worry about someone else? It's not my style."

9. Not that I support Arnie
But I saw that footage, too, and he also said he understood immigrants because he was also an immigrant.

Yeah...like his immigration so closely mirrors immigrant Mexicans. Sure, Arnie...you have such a deep understanding and compassion about all that.

4. Hanks has denied the story referred to concerning himself.
In the meantime I don't really see a Hollywood groundswell for Davis. A few speak for Davis, a few speak for Arnold, and most seem to just so far be sitting this out.

5. Why shouldn't they?
I mean, after all, the whole thing is like Ohmygawd, rilly, rilly embarassing!

On the other hand, due to the reportage contained therein, the New York Post isn't even fit to use as birdcage liner. All the bullshit in it would make a fragile bird sick.

11. If Ah-nold is the best you got ~ You should just sit this one out.
The GOP is displaying their brightest and their best with Ah-nold. With these people (Ah-nold & Bush*) as their representatives why are they (republicans) soooo proud? I guess it makes them feel smart when their leaders are soo incredibly dim.

7. Arnold may have 'terminated' his entire career with this move.
Edited on Mon Sep-08-03 09:23 AM by Dover
No one will ever see him in quite the same way after dredging up his sordid past. Plus, with these bully powermongers running our country
that whole Action Hero schtick will probably lose its luster and attraction.

8. What about Arnold calling blacks "niggers"?
That probably won't help his career in Hollywood:

12. Hell, think of it this way...
You're watching a movie about a volcano or a monster from the depths or something, and in the scene where the Governor of the state is called upon to say or do something, an incoherent slab of beef appears sitting behind a desk, muttering in a Katzenjammer Kids accent....

It's a scene out of Ed Wood...and if no-one would buy it in the movies, why did anyone think they'd buy it in real-life?
