A Look at U.S. Daily Casualties in Iraq (259 dead US and British soldiers)

As of Saturday, July 12, 217 U.S. soldiers have died since the beginning of operations in Iraq, according to the Pentagon. The British government has reported 42 casualties.

Since May 1, when President Bush declared that major combat operations in Iraq had ended, 79 U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq, according to the Pentagon.
