Berger Heist In Front of Grand Jury
WASHINGTON — The criminal probe into why former Bill Clinton aide Sandy Berger (search) illegally sneaked top-secret documents out of the National Archives (search) — possibly in his socks — has heated up and is now before a federal grand jury, The Post has learned.

FOX News has confirmed the grand jury investigation.

The "Socks Docs" probe forced Berger, who was President Clinton's national security adviser, to step down as Democrat John Kerry's top foreign-policy adviser last summer.

"It may have been off the front pages, but the investigation has been active," said a source with knowledge of the probe.

I couldn't find this on NYP Online anywhere.

10. Maybe it is going to be and that is why they released the
Berger info, smoke and mirrors, try to soften the blow or have the Plame issue overshadowed by Berger.

6. Talk about a biased headline!
"Berger Heist". They are assuming allegations are facts. Boy, that Fox News and NY Post sure are fair and balanced, aren't they?

11. WSJ Said He Was Cleared of All Charges on 7/30
That's what I read back then and also what comes up when googling it.

I do not have a link to the WSJ story.

I concern myself with the Administration in power today, not the one that has been out of power for four years.

17. If Karl Rove was caught stuffing his socks...
you bet you'd care. Am I the only one here who was embarrassed by Berger's conduct. It's hard to browbeat Repubs. when you've got shit on your shoes. We need to cut our losses and take a few hits toward greater credibility.

18. In case you didn't notice, FAUX is a mouth-piece for this administration.
If they are lying or the WSJ is lying (who apparently reported the reverse of this report), they should have their shoulders pinned to the wall.

Doncha' think? :bounce:
