WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Retail gasoline prices inched lower last week, falling for a third straight week, the Energy Department said Monday. 2. Wow! The price of oil drops 10% and we get a 1% drop in gas. That's one
hell of a deal!

3. Well yeah, 'cause the oil cos hit their profit targets for 1st quarter
so I'm not surprised they eased off a little bit.

But the "summer driving season" is around the corner, and the long Memorial Day weekend is 4 short weeks away. They should call it "summer gouging season."

I'll bet they start going right back up again...

5. And don't forget RVP gas ocmes around in the summer in some areas.
You can usually add another dime to the cost of gas when this stuff goes in your tank.

they said it was because of less demand.

Do they expect us to jump up and down with joy, while they continue to take our hard earned money, for profit and nothing else. :argh:

7. This won't last
People will celebrate a five cent drop at the pump, while they completely ignore the overall upward trend in gas prices over the course of the last few years. $2.00 a gallon was unheard of just a couple of years ago, now it is considered a pretty decent price. Peak oil is here, and while the price is going to fluctuate you can expect the overall upward trend to continue for years to come. All while Bush refuses to require more fuel efficient vehicles.

15. I bet they get all the business in town!
It's around $2.15 here in central La. I think we've seen the last of cheap gas for quite a while, as long as dubya tiptoes thru the tulips with his lord and master from Saudi Arabia!
